I always love to hear stories about the Workings of the Universe which I think of as the Divine Plan. I guess it just reminds me how magical our world really is!
This particular story began 15 years ago with a postcard a young mother, Marissa, received in the mail about a skateboarding camp. When Marissa read the details, she thought this would be so much fun for her six year old! But it seems that plan wasn’t going to work. He just wasn’t interested. Oh well, she tried.
But Marissa didn’t throw out the postcard. Even though her younger son was only 3, she thought he may like to attend in a few years. But when the time came, that plan wasn’t going to work either. Same story. He just wasn’t interested. Okay.
Marissa still kept the postcard. There was still her youngest child, four years old. Maybe he would attend when old enough. Afterall, they say three’s a charm! Well, you know the story by now… Another plan down the drain!
Even though there were no more children, Marissa told me she still saved the postcard. “Something just made me hold on to it”, she said. “Every time I wanted to throw it away, I just couldn’t do it!”
Although she would occasionally come across it, Marissa didn’t think too much about the postcard after that. Not even when Joseph was born a couple of years later or when he was old enough to attend the camp.
But one day at the age of 8, Joseph announced he wanted to learn how to skateboard. Marissa excitedly pulled out the postcard she had been saving for 15 years! “It’s amazing the camp is still in operation!” I told her!
As she and Joseph continued with the story, that’s when the chills started going up and down my body. You see Joseph loves architecture and has been wanting to learn about it. Well, it just so happens that Joseph’s skateboarding teacher, (who started attending the camp as a child 15 years ago,) is also getting his degree as an architect and has become the perfect mentor for Joseph!
I won’t be surprised if one day Joseph becomes a famous architect. You never know what the Divine Plan has in store!
But in the meantime, Joseph certainly loves skateboarding camp. Afterall, his teacher is the coolest skateboarding architect dude ever! And that certainly turned out to be the best plan of all!
