Solstice’s Heart

I suppose my heart bond with my two  year old granddaughter, Solstice, began before she was even born. For as we did with my grandson, Skyler, we called to her with heart songs before she was conceived.  Perhaps that is why as a baby she would calm down whenever I would sing to her. She recognized my heart song.

Before Solstice could speak with words as babies do, she had her way of communicating with my husband and me. She associated him with dancing and would do a little dance when she would see him. But for me, she would show me her heart. I suppose that came from the times I would sit with her in the rocking chair with her heart on mine when she was upset. I would be the only one who could calm her down.

Recently, Solstice had to have her tonsils removed, so of course I was there to help after her surgery. And yes, heart to heart while rocking was our “go to” when she needed soothing. Even when I would lie next to her when putting her to sleep, she would insist on lying down on top of me so we would be fully joined  heart to heart. Normally that isn’t the case.

With also having to keep Solstice quiet and calm during her two week recovery, not an easy task with a  two year old, her parents’ rule of not being allowed to watch videos was suspended. Over and over, Solstice insisted on watching the Disney move, Muana. Yes, I can recite the movie word for word!

If you are not familiar with the story,  after the heart from the goddess of creation is stolen by a demigod, darkness rules over the goddess and the earth. Muana  follows her own heart and goes on a quest in partnership with the ocean to save her tribe by returning the heart to the goddess enabling her once again to have the power of creation.

The part of the movie where Muana actually returns the heart to the goddess made me cry no matter how many times I saw it. One time in the midst of my tears, it dawned on me why Solstice couldn’t get enough of this movie. Even as a two year she understands its message of the power of the heart. And this is what can truly change our world.

Recently one of the children in my Infinite Light Vision program was working with seeing cards with closed eyes rather than a blindfold mask. She instinctively put the cards to her heart in order to see them without her physical eyes. And yes, she saw each one with her heart!

We have so many names for these new children who have come to raise the vibration of our planet using the power of their hearts – indigo, crystal, rainbow, diamond, magenta. I am giving them a new name, Children of the Heart.

May we too learn what they have come to teach us, the Power of our Hearts!
