Serendipity! I just love its lyrical sound! Makes me feel like twirling around – laughing! I certainly love seeing synchronicities in my life! But serendipity seems to be so much more. The dictionary defines it as “the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.” I like to think of it as a mirthful wink of Love from the universe!
My daughter, Rachel and daughter-in-law, Marissa, recently experienced one of those winks when their tenth wedding anniversary was approaching. Even though they are my family, their wedding is certainly one to remember! You see Rachel and Marissa are fire spinners and in those days before children arrived they spent many weekends at festivals connecting with a beautiful fire spinning community. For their wedding it was a weekend of camping out under the stars with all those friends as well as Rachel and Marissa fire spinning throughout! My husband and I even walked down the aisle holding torches of fire!
Here is the serendipity part. Even though Marissa and Rachel haven’t been involved with the fire spinning community for years, they were asked to spin fire during an upcoming music festival. The place? You guessed it! The very same youth ranch where they got married! The date was the same month as their anniversary!
There were all sorts of other synchronicities throughout the weekend. For example as soon as they got into the car, their wedding song for their first dance began to play on the radio. Their assigned camping area was in the original place where they got married. A very unusual cold front came in just as it had for their wedding. And of course the icing on the cake, it was Marissa’s birthday that weekend!
It seems the Universe was having a grand old time winking away! As we enter 2025, may there be many winks of Love for all of us!
