When the mice kept coming into my house, I did everything I knew to deter them. I prayed, communicated with them, closed the holes, did all the natural remedies. Adopting a kitty wasn’t a solution at the time with all the traveling we do.
I finally ended up calling the pest control company. They assured me the special bait boxes were the most humane way. There wouldn’t be any suffering. But each time I received notice the boxes were checked, I still asked the mice to please stay away.
One day I met the box checker, whom I now call the Mouse Lady. When I asked if there were ever any mice in the boxes, there was an instant rapport between us!
She told me how she used to work for a different company where other methods were used. She had many stories of how she would save them and bring them to safe locations. One time when six baby mice were stuck on a glue board, her daughter traveled an hour to get them. After work the Mouse Lady and her daughter worked to free them and took them to a nearby field.
She told me that there were times she would find a dead mouse in one of the boxes on my property. But each time, she would say a prayer for it.
After our conversation, I certainly said a prayer! One of gratitude! What are the chances I would have such a compassionate Mouse Lady?
I am continuing to communicate with the mice to get to the point where the boxes are always empty. But until then, knowing the Mouse Lady is checking them is a true heavenly gift!
